TED talks
Haven't posted in a while...busy Christmas fun around here. But there is a lull in the activity... and you also may find a few minutes free for reflection and viewing.
I have been reflecting on some quotes this advent season from Brene Brown out of a TED talk.
Technology. Entertainment. Design. TED talks are under 20 minutes (some as short as 2) and are ideas presented by experts in a storytelling manner. I just listened to one by Brene Brown on Whole Hearted people. Some great quotes are:
"We are hard-wired for struggle when we get here. Our job is not to take this perfect little baby and keep them from imperfection. Impossible. Our job is to say: You are imperfect but you are worthy of loving and belonging."
"We cannot selectively numb. If we numb something, we numb everything. If we numb pain, we numb joy."
"There's another way: let ourselves be seen. Deeply seen. Vulnerably seen. Love with our whole hearts, even when there is no guarantee."
"Practice gratitude and lean into joy."
"Believe: I am enough. Then we are kinder and gentler to the people around us and kinder and gentler to ourselves."
Which one do you like?
