The Seduction of Inadequacy

I think media has warped my view on pregnancy these bigger days. On life-making and life-carrying and life-giving. We just shot some maternity family pictures and I saw them a few hours later. My response was tears. Not of joy, sadly. But of...feeling like a completely other self. And not liking it one bit. I felt huge, round, silly. Where did my high cheekbones go? Whose thighs are those? What is going on?

Skin color. Body shape. Season of life. These can be gifts or curses....but one thing is for sure that Oscar Winner Lupita Nyong'o says - "You can't eat beauty. It doesn't feed you. You have to be beauty."

Whew.

Ladies...whats your current beauty battle? What are you going to do about it?
